Queen of Orange meets Orange President

The rumour had been about for a while, but now there is a confirmation: 7-8 червня на запрошення Королеви Нідерландів Беатрікс Президент України Віктор Ющенко разом з дружиною пані Катериною здійснить офіційний візит до Королівства Нідерланди, or in other words: President Yushchenko and his wife Kateryna have been invited by Queen Beatrix to visit the Netherlands on 7 and 8 June.

Exactly 3 months after he had a Dutch tulip named after him, the president will have a chance to see the tulips at Keukenhof. The warm relationship between the two countries dates from the Orange Revolution, when Dutch special envoy Niek Biegman and MFA Ben Bot played an important role.

Queen Beatrix, PM Balkenende and President Yushchenko met on 27 January 2005 after the ceremony to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by the Red Army.

Prime Minister Balkenende visited Kyiv in 2004. He succesfully recovered the Koenigs Collection. Makes one wonder what the Netherlands has in store now. A bit of support for Ukraine's bid to join the European Union may come in handy...

Hi buddy. Maidan vroeg me of ik geinteresseerd was in een intervieuw samen met R.R. Why not? Hoewel ik op vakantie wil. Denk jij ervan? C.
