BEOGRAD, 22. maja 2006. (Beta) - Za nezavisnost Crne Gore glasalo je 55,4 odsto izašlih birača, a 44,6 izjasnilo se protiv, saopštila je u ponedeljak Republička referendumska komisija saopštavajući prve preliminarne rezultate.
According to a press conference organised by the Montenegrin Republican Referendum Committee earlier this morning, 55.4% of the population voted in favour of independence for Montenegro. EU declared to recognise the result if it would be more than 55%.
So no reason next time to fight over who will enter the Eurovision Song Contest. Now they can join both and give each other the douze points.
Also makes one wonder when Montenegro will exchange the local currency (euro) for the European one :)
UPDATE: it seems that just 1,500 Montenegrins decided the fate of The State Union of Serbia and Montenegro yesterday. The State Union was proclaimed on 4 February 2003 and was based on the equality of the two member states, the state of Serbia and the state of Montenegro. (and of course a recount is asked)
