While the Orange President was visiting Amsterdam, the Orange first lady went to Vlaardingen.Interestingly enough, there is more the Yushchenkos share with the Netherlands than just the colour Orange. Mrs. Yushchenko told in Vlaardingen that especially her husband adores herrings. Because unfortunately he was unable to visit Vlaardingen - known for its herrings - himself, Mrs. Yushenko received a large serving of herrings as a present to her husband.
Slowly the culinary secrets of the Yushchenkos are unfolding

I hope the Dutch speciality will inspire Mrs. Yushchenko also in her cooking and entertaining using recipes from various parts of the world.
UPDATE: haringoproer... (good that Mrs. Yushchenko did not have to pay for the herrings, otherwise the Dutch Fish Marketing Board would have roared)
